November 2016 Washington, DC based artists Rosana Azar and Ali Mirsky, and youth coordinator Talia Orencel, brought the visual arts to Kisimani School for the first time!

Working with over 500 students, they helped to beautify the walls and the wells at Kisimani, leaving our school a more inspiring place to learn in, and creating a positive memory for our students.

October
2016 Friends of Kisimani School sponsors 10+ water filters made by Safe Water Ceramics to clean up the drinking water at school.   Supporting a local business, and improving the safety of our students at the same time - win/win!

July 2016
Sports equipment donated for the first time!

$400 goes a very long way - one sponsor gifted our kids with new soccer balls, netballs, and jerseys for the Class 5 boys and girls. Now they can fulfill their dream of competing with neighboring schools, and represent Kisimani with pride.

May 2016
Kisimani School has a new playground!

With a donated budget of about $1,000, and a non-profit partnership with IBES, we installed a new playground and swingset for all of our students.
